About the Chapel Hill Leads Group
What is the Chapel Hill Leads Group?
We are a local business networking group, established in 1998, and affiliated with the Chapel Hill- Carrboro Chamber of Commerce. We meet every Wednesday morning for the purpose of promoting and supporting one another in our business enterprises.
Who is invited to attend the meetings?
Everyone is invited. Please come as our guest your first time. Your first meeting is on us! Your second meeting and onward, weekly dues are $5.00.
The fee is used to pay for our meeting space, and to fund various activities and projects that benefit the entire group, such as producing promotional materials and participating in business expos and charitable activities.
Do you limit membership to one representative from each industry or profession, like other networking groups?
No, we don’t. We believe there’s plenty of opportunity to do business in this area, and that every business has unique strengths and specialties.
Are you limited to Chapel Hill businesses?
Not at all. We meet in Chapel Hill, but have members from Durham, Hillsborough, Raleigh, Cary and surrounding Triangle communities.
Who runs the meetings?
Meetings are currently facilitated by Lee Schearer of American Real Estate and Appraisal Company.
Weekly Meeting Agenda
- Pledge of Allegiance
- Twenty second introduction (aka the “Elevator Speech”) – Each attendee stands and has 20 seconds for a brief promotion of his business.
- Speaker Presentation – A member presents a 10-minute talk about their business.
- Door Prize Drawing – Fun drawings for member donated gifts. Donating a door prize gives you an opportunity to further advertise your business.
- Networking – Although the meeting officially ends at 9:30 a.m., the after meeting networking period is when the work is really accomplished.
Just a reminder that the Breakfast Club is still meeting at 7:00 a.m. at the Whole Foods Market, 81 S. Elliott Road, Chapel Hill. Everyone is invited to share good conversation and a quick breakfast before our regular Leads Group meeting at our new location. This is one way that we can continue to support the management & staff that supported the Leads Group for such a long time.

The Alamance Leads Group meets every Monday morning at the ACC Small Business Center, Diilingham Campus, 1304 Plaza Drive, Burlington, NC 27215. Dick O’Donnell (dick@dickod.com) with Ring Central/Total Merchant Services (919-760-5476) is the facilitator. The Alamance Leads Group meet from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
The Apex Small Business Network (ASBN) meets every Tuesday morning at the Apex Chamber of Commerce, 220 N. Salem Street, Apex, NC 27520 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
The Cary Leads Group meets every Thursday at Hope Community Church, 821 Buck Jones Road, Raleigh, NC 27606. Steve Wilson (919-600-1146) The Raleigh Dog Trainer is the facilitator. The Cary Leads Group meet from 9:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
First Tuesday | Chatham Local Business Roundtable. Open to all businesses. Join other Local Business Leaders for Morning Coffee, Networking, and Great Discussion about Current and Pertinent Business Issues. Bring plenty of business cards. Meets the first Tuesday of each month at Virlie’s Grill, 58 Hillsboro Street, Pittsboro, NC 27312. Seating is limited. Don Bonin (919-542-2446) with Town & Country Trader is the facilitator. First Tuesday meets from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
